The Minnesota English Language Program (MELP) helps international students prepare for academic work in an English-speaking university setting. MELP offers English language support with reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, U.S. culture, and more.
Student English Language Support (SELS) is a free service that offers 45-minute consultations to international undergraduate students to help further develop their English skills.
If you would like to work on your English conversation skills and also share your native language, consider joining the Tandem Plus program. You will be matched with a partner and meet regularly throughout the semester. You will spend half of the time speaking English, and the other half speaking in your native language.
The University also offers tutoring and help with classes. Check out the Tutoring and Academic Success Center's services and resources for undergraduate students, Student Writing Support at the Center for Writing, and the current student toolkit from the Graduate School.
