International Student and Scholar Services hosts an orientation for H-1B, TN, and E-3 employees and J-1 exchange visitors in the Professor, Research Scholar, and Short-term Scholar categories.
The orientation is an opportunity to learn about immigration information, campus resources, and to connect with new international colleagues and ISSS staff. Content is presented through a conversation and focuses on the needs and interests of the current attendees. ISSS advisors are dedicated international education professionals with years of experience at UMN and other institutions, who can help you navigate your adjustment to our campuses. We strongly encourage new scholars and employees to attend. Participation is recommended after arrival to Minnesota and within 2 months.
Orientation sessions are held at the beginning of each month at 1:00 p.m. The format alternates between in-person sessions held in Heller Hall 110 and virtual sessions through Zoom.
