As of June 2022, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires travelers, including international students, to have proof of a COVID-19 vaccine in order to enter the United States. Review our international travel page for updates.
The University of Minnesota also has a COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement. Monitor your UMN email this summer for communications about completing the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement. All students will be required to provide vaccination records, a sincerely held religious belief exemption, or a medical exemption. Review the University of Minnesota's Get the Vax website for up-to-date information about the UMN's COVID-19 vaccine requirements.
Additional Immunization Requirement
Minnesota law requires all students to be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria. Review the immunization requirements and complete the online or printable immunization record available on the Boynton Health website.
International students will not be required to complete this immunization requirement until they arrive on campus (but the COVID-19 vaccine is required before travel to the U.S.). Students starting in Fall 2022 will be expected to comply by August 31, 2022.
If you do not complete the vaccination form before the start of classes, a registration hold will be placed on your record for the following semester.
If you have already received your immunizations, you can complete the online or printable immunization record available on the Boynton Health website. You will need to know the month and year when you received each immunization to complete the form.
If you need one or more immunizations, you can choose whether to obtain your vaccinations in your home country or after you arrive at the UMN. With the UMN Student Health Benefit Plan, there will not be a cost to get your vaccinations done at Boynton Health (the UMN's on-campus health clinic).
