ISSS's advisor training is intended for new or seasoned academic advisors, Graduate Program Coordinators, career counselors, and student services staff who work with international students. It is offered twice a year.
Content includes:
- Part one (45 minutes)
- International students at the University
- International Student and Scholar Services overview
- Arrival processes and communications
- Break/tour of ISSS for in-person participants (30 minutes)
- Part two (45 minutes)
- Decoding the advisor role in immigration
- How students maintain legal status
- On-campus and off-campus work options
