J entry visas must be obtained outside of the United States at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
You can arrive up to 30 days before and 25 days after the Start Date on your documents.
There are a variety of housing options available both on-campus and off-campus.
You are required to purchase UMN health insurance for yourself and your dependents.

This mandatory process verifies your arrival and proper immigration status.
You will need to check in with your hosting department after completing your ISSS Check-In.
ISSS will contact you to schedule an orientation.
