On July 17, the Department of Homeland Security published a new rule that will have sweeping impacts on both current and new F and J visa holders. As a result, the information on this website regarding F and J visa status is only valid until the new rule goes into effect. The original implementation date was September 15, 2026, but a lawsuit has paused implementation of the rule. ISSS is monitoring the situation and will provide updates on the Duration of Status Information Hub.
