Teng Xu is an International Counselor at the ISSS office. He holds a Master of Education in Second Language and Culture, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, both from the University of Minnesota.

Prior to joining ISSS, Teng worked as an F-1 adviser at another institution and as an elementary school teacher at a local public school. In his teaching role, he served on committees aimed at advancing social justice initiatives for the betterment of the students' experience.

Teng is the designated adviser for international LGBTQ+ students at ISSS. He provides guidance and support on F-1 student visa matters, and offers advice on personal, cultural, and identity-based challenges faced by students. As a former international gay student himself, Teng brings valuable lived experience.

Throughout his work, he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to learning, and deep passion in supporting students from various cultural backgrounds.

In his free time, Teng enjoys watching movies, jogging, and spending time with family and friends.
