Anita Feng (she/they) serves as the Student Engagement Coordinator at International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), where they develop and implement programs fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for international students. They work closely with international student leaders and campus partners, supporting the social, academic, and professional growth of the international student community.
With a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Anita is passionate about advocating for the unique needs of international students by helping to remove systemic barriers and creating opportunities for student engagement and professional development. Anita leads initiatives that support students’ holistic development, promote cross-cultural understanding, and address the unique challenges faced by marginalized student groups within the international student body.
In all their efforts, Anita aims to cultivate a sense of belonging and ensure that every student feels valued and supported.
Anita spent their entire academic career at the University of Minnesota, where they earned a B.S. in Psychology from the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) and a B.S. in Human Resource Development from the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). They also hold an M.A. in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) with a focus on Higher Education from the University of Minnesota.
With extensive knowledge and hands-on experience supporting international students at the University of Minnesota, as well as her own international student background, Anita brings a deep understanding of the challenges this community faces, as well as the rich assets they contribute. Drawing from her experience in student services, programming, and DEI advocacy, Anita is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that empowers international students to thrive, while contributing to a campus community that celebrates and uplifts diverse identities.
