ISSS supports and welcomes all international students that identify as LGBTQIA+ at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

We provide private services for international LGBTQIA+ students, including:

  • Counseling
  • Support
  • Information & resources
  • Referrals

We will not disclose any of your information or identity with anyone without your permission, except in very limited situations. Learn more about the limits of confidentiality.

Chirayu Dongre (he/him/his)

Chirayu Dongre

Chirayu is our designated counselor for international LGBTQ+ students. He arrived in the United States as an immigrant while a high school student. He received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Chirayu has worked with very diverse student populations, including LGBTQIA+ students, throughout his career.
