Travel Signature Sessions
If you plan to travel outside the U.S. and your travel signature on your I-20/DS-2019 is no longer valid, please attend one of our travel signature sessions. Advising on these dates will be for travel signatures only. Travel signatures are valid for 1 year or up until the end date on your I-20/DS-2019 whichever one is sooner.
The sessions will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays:

May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, & 24.
Students who request to see an adviser for reasons other than travel during the above times will be asked to come back during regular walk-in hours which are held in the afternoon. For more information about travel, go to Travel Information (F-1/J-1).

Walk–In Advising for F and J Visa Holders
|

Walk–ins are 15–minute, unscheduled drop-in meetings with advisors taken on a first-come, first-served basis for F and J visa holders. An appointment isn′t needed for walk-in advising. You can sign up at the Welcome Center in 190 Humphrey School.
We may close walk-ins early if we have more people than can be seen during the allotted time.

ISSS is open during the hours listed. However, if you wish to meet with an advisor, you should come in during the F and J visa walk-in hours or schedule an appointment at the Welcome Center. Please note that ISSS is closed for lunch from 12pm– 1pm every day.

Appointments
To see an advisor or counselor, including the H-1B visa advisor, you can schedule an appointment with the ISSS Welcome Center in 190 Humphrey School or by calling 612-626-7100. Regular appointments generally last up to 30 minutes, but if you feel you need more time, ask for a longer appointment. ISSS does not schedule same-day appointments.
