Eland
Alisa Eland is Associate Director for Counseling and Advising at ISSS. She supervises counseling and crisis management, and oversees advising, career services, the cross-cultural discussion group program, and the counseling practicum and international education internship program. She provides consultation and training to University departments on counseling, student mental health, career, academic, cross-cultural and crisis issues. Alisa holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Student Personal Psychology and has worked at ISSS since 1984. She is co-author of “U.S. Culture Series: U.S. Classroom Culture,” a publication for international students on education in the U.S. She also co-authored "Succeeding Abroad: International Students in the United States" in the book "International Students and Scholars in the United States: Coming from Abroad." She has conducted research on international student academic, career, and cross-cultural experiences.
