Alex
Cleberg
The world is a big place, and Alex helps others appreciate its cultural largess through his training and programming.
Through a series of regular and customized trainings, Alex seeks to increase intercultural competencies at the University of Minnesota. He makes sure each training session is theoretically grounded, professionally relevant, and interactive.
He created two international student teams to execute Small World Coffee Hour, a regular, globally themed event on both Minneapolis and St. Paul campus. He focuses on helping international teammates leverage their diverse perspectives to excellently perform as a team.
Alex keeps his intercultural skills up-to-date by traveling regularly, presenting at local and national SIETAR conferences, teaching and fulfilling fellowship duties at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication, providing Intercultural Development Inventory feedback, consulting small business immigrant entrepreneurs, cooking Indian food and teaching his daughter how to say hello in several languages.
