ISSS supports and welcomes all international students that identify as LGBTQIA+ at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. We provide private services for international LGBTQ+ students, including:

  • Counseling
  • Support
  • Information & resources
  • Referrals

ISSS Staff

Chirayu Dongre is our designated counselor for international LGBTQ+ students at ISSS. He arrived in the United States as an immigrant while a high school student. He received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Chirayu has worked with very diverse student populations, including LGBTQIA students, throughout his career.   • Questioning and/or exploring your gender or sexual identity

Nasreen Mohamed, the Director of Student Engagement for International Student and Scholar Services, was an international student in the U.S. and has been active in the LGBTQ+ people of color and international LGBTQ+ community in the Twin Cities area.
