Discussion Group Facilitators Wanted!

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is looking for graduate students and staff with small group facilitation experience to co-lead fall semester Cross-cultural Discussion Group sessions. As a volunteer group facilitator, you will have the chance to practice and develop your facilitation and multicultural competency skills and join a network of colleagues whom you can learn a ton from.

Each semester, six groups are formed with students from a variety of majors, colleges and great diversity in experiences and cultural backgrounds. The goal of the program is to create a space where UMN students can engage one another through discussion topics and social events as a way to enhance their academic experiences. The groups will include international and U.S. students.

Past group participants have testified that being part of the program helped them develop and improve their communications skills, strengthen their cross-cultural awareness, and expand their world view.
