International GLBTQIA Discussion Group

GLBTA Programs Office and International Student & Scholar Services are co-hosting a discussion group for international Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Transgender, Questioning, Intersex and Allies students to share their experiences and personal thoughts in a safe and confidential space. The group focuses on international GLBTQIA topics and community building. We invite guest speakers who are experts on GLBTQIA issues in different countries and cultures. The program intends to create a space for students to voice their unique experience as International students because of national and cultural differences.

Example of previous topics are:

  • Coming out process for International students
  • Sham marriages in Asian cultures
  • Transgender in China
  • Masculinity in India
