International Student Academic Group

Other Resources

A comprehensive list of resources available for international students is available here.

International students can also meet with ISSS advisers for Academic Support.

International Student & Scholar Services is hosting a new group for international undergraduate students interested in improving their academics while learning new study skills and strategies. International students sometimes experience challenges that affect their studies (for example time management, English skills, homesickness, cultural differences, and family concerns). As a group, we will provide support and strategies to overcome academic challenges in the U.S.

The International Student Academic Group will be a casual and comfortable setting. We will meet weekly for 1.5-hour sessions, beginning mid-October through finals week. It is a great opportunity to meet with and learn from other students.

Topics we may discuss include:

  • Steps to improve grades
  • New study skills
  • Adapting to U.S. classroom style
  • Overcoming academic probation
