Ruibi Wang is an F-1 advising intern for the 2016-2017 academic year. She is an international student from China and is currently in the second year of her M.A. program at the University of Minnesota in the department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) with a program track in Higher Education.
Ruibi received her bachelor's degree in Public Utilities Management from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) in Beijing, China. Prior to this, she had experience working at an education company where she helped students with their applications for foreign graduate schools and visa problems.
Ruibi is doing research on the difficulties that international students encounter, such as culture shock and language barriers, and hopes to discover ways to help international students find a sense of belonging on campus. She is also interested in international student services and hopes to become an international student advisor after graduation.
