Mingzhi is originally from China. She came to the United States in 2009 and earned her M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology at University of Minnesota. Prior to that, Mingzhi received her B.S. in Applied Psychology back in China. She started at ISSS in 2011 as an advisor/counselor for students who hold F-1 visa and work with students on immigration regulation issues, academic difficulty and cultural adjustment. Also as the Specialist on Chinese Students, she is offering insights and consultation for individuals and groups around campus on working with Chinese students. Besides the advising and consulting work she does, she coordinates Chinese Parent Orientation Program (CHIPOP) and is on the planning/execution committee of New International Student Seminar (NISS).
