Marina Uehara

Marina Uehara

Marina has been the Education Program Specialist for Student Engagement & Intercultural Initiatives at International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) since 2014. She plans and implements educational programs and develops strategies for cultural, leadership and personal engagement on campus for student leaders in an informal non-classroom setting. She also creates and implements structured programs for practicing leadership through the Culture Corps program and the Global Gopher Academy, where students can share their unique assets, skills and talents through various projects and internships on campus.

Prior to that, Marina worked as a Gender Responsive Corrections Officer at the Duluth Bethel Work Release facility and interned at the Public Defender’s office as a Dispositional Adviser. Marina is a past international student from Argentina, and she has a double master's from CEHD at the University of Minnesota in Social Work (M.S.W.) and an M.A. in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development (OLPD), and is a currently licensed as an LGSW in the state of MN.
