Please Complete the International Student Barometer

To all international students:

Please complete the International Student Barometer (ISB). This survey is your opportunity to tell us what's working, what's frustrating, and what you think of your time as an international student at the University of Minnesota.

To get started, please find the email sent to you titled "Message from Barbara Kappler - International Student Barometer Survey." The email has an individualized link for you to use to access the survey.

By collecting and reviewing your responses, we can determine what we need to do to better serve current and future international students. Thank you to those of you who have taken this survey before, and we hope you will complete it again this year. We also look forward to hearing from international students who have not taken the ISB before.

Your responses are important to us. Based on your feedback, ISSS and other offices across campus have:

  • Used the data to identify the campus-wide priorities for the academic enhancement fee. This has allowed us to use the funds from the fee in the areas international students say it should be used: increasing international student's sense of belonging, improving English language proficiency, and more.
  • Created new initiatives to encourage the integration of international and domestic students in the classroom.
  • Launched a new International Student Advisory Board where international students provide feedback to ISSS and the Office of Student Affairs.
  • 42 campus-wide projects, including customized career services and major counseling tailored for international students.

We want to continue this work, but we need your guidance to do so. All of your answers will be confidential, so no one will know how you respond.

You will also be entered into a drawing to win $1,000 or a $25 gift card when you complete the survey.

Thank you for your time, and please remember to fill out the ISB when you receive it. If you have questions or would like additional information, please email Xi Yu, Evaluation Specialist for ISSS.
