UMN International Community Celebrates Homecoming

Homecoming is a century-old tradition that brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends and family for a full week of fun activities and celebrations on the Twin Cities campus. This year, ISSS hosted and collaborated on a few homecoming events for our international community.

Homecoming-themed Small World Coffee Hour

On Friday, October 4, Small World Coffee Hour hosted the Ski-U-Crew interns who brought the school spirit and presented on homecoming traditions and ways to get involved. The crew did an excellent job explaining terms and being welcoming. Attendees also watched a "Football 101" video to learn about the sport and it's traditions to prepare for the big game.

Homecoming Bike Center Celebration

On Tuesday, October 7, Parking Transportation Services held a grand-reopening for the Bike Center. They also hosted their biggest campus bike tour which several international community members attended.

On Friday, October 11, student leaders from Small World Coffee Hour and Global Gopher Experiences led students from MELP and ISSS through the homecoming parade. Some students brought flags and wore traditional clothing from their home countries.
