Transportation to Campus from MSP Airport

Gopher Chauffeur (Fall Only)

Gopher Chauffeur The UMN's Gopher Chauffeur gives students and families free rides to the University of Minnesota campus and several nearby locations. The two minivans can transport about 16 people per hour.

DAYS OF SERVICE: August 11 and August 27
TIMES: The van arrives every hour and will wait 20 minutes (10 a.m. and 9:20 p.m.)

Other Transportation Options From the Airport

There are a variety of transportation options from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

  • Public Transportation (Buses or Light Rail): Light rail transit and city buses are available from the airport to downtown Minneapolis and the UMN campus.
  • Shuttles: Super Shuttle is a shared shuttle service that costs approximately $20 per person. The Shuttle operates every day. If you have more than 3 pieces of luggage you will be charged an extra fee.
  • Taxis: Taxi service is available for approximately $40-$50. Use taxis and shuttle services that have the name of the company clearly marked, and whose drivers are willing to give you an estimate of the cost to take you to your destination.
  • Other: International student organizations are also helpful and may offer to assist you with transportation from the airport.
