  ISSS Virtual Forum for Mandarin-Speaking Parents

Please share the following information with your parents and/or family members:

We would like to invite international students' parents and family to join our Virtual Forum for Mandarin-Speaking Parents to address your family's concerns and questions. This forum will be facilitated and translated into Mandarin Chinese, with a main focus to answer parents' and family's questions. It also will be open to all UMN international students, scholars, and family members who would like to get first-hand information in Mandarin Chinese.

ISSS staff will share the latest information about ISSS's services, immigration, reporting bias and discrimination, and well-being and self-care under the current situation. Guest speakers will join from Boynton Health Services, Parent and Family Program, and The China Office in Beijing,

  How to Do Virtual Interviews with Small World Coffee Hour, Career Services, and Student English Language Support

This week, Small World Coffee Hour will have Career Services and Student English Language Support as our co-host. We will be focusing on Virtual Interviews this week, and our co-host will be presenting some tips for you all to ACE a virtual interview. You will also have a chance to practice your skills, and there will be chances to win lots of prizes! The event will be held virtually.

Interested in learning more about the process of working with a Staffing Agency for your first role after graduation?

Join us for the 2020 “Now Hiring” Virtual Panel! We’ll be posting 2-3 minute introductions on YouTube of various local staffing agencies to help you gain a better understanding of the careers and industries these various agencies represent.

We then invite you to join us for our virtual panel featuring five individuals representing a wide range of industries to answer your questions about how and why you may want to consider working with a staffing agency to find your first full-time position.

Participants are required to pre-register with an email address, and they can submit questions in at that time. The registration deadline is April 22.
